NNAD seeks Collaboration with Uganda Association of the Deaf

The Nigerian National Association of the Deaf (NNAD) seeks collaboration with Uganda and other Africa Association of the Deaf to strengthen it’s Advocacy agenda on African Continent especially on areas related to deaf human rights and ratifications of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the NNAD Comr Labaran Bala , ” the National President Chidi Olujie together with the National Youth Leader Ebuka Okeke met and discussed with Uganda National Association of the Deaf (UNAD) Executive Director named Robert Nkwangu at Kampala Uganda where many issues, including but not limited to; integration and collaboration among African Deaf Associations to strengthen Deaf Advocacy agenda on the African continent were discussed.

“We were able to learn about the history and operational processes of UNAD, they achievement and progress related to advocacy for Deaf human rights, notably the ratification of the UNCRPD and adoption of the Ugandan Sign Language into their national constitution from which we took notes” The NP Hon. Chidi Olujie Quoted.
