Persons with Disabilities in Bauchi State had cause for rejoicing when the State Governor, Dr. Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed distributed Christmas and New year gifts to the community across the State.
The gift items were distributed through the Bauchi State Agency for Persons with Disabilities at Ibrahim Sani Abacha rehabilitation centre, Bauchi. They include bags of rice, garri and vegetable oil.
Chairman of the State Agency for PWDs, Alhaji Hamza Waziri took to social media to express gratitude on behalf of the Agency and the Disability community.
In his comment, he thanked the State Governor for providing what he termed “valuable and life-saving food items” to mark Christmas/New year celebrations across the State.
He added “I am sure PWDs will find them valuable in our daily lives. I also wish to seize this opportunity to thank His Excellency for believing in me to run the affairs of this Agency.
“I owe the citizens, as well as the Government of Bauchi State, a burden of gratitude borne of trust. It is a burden I am willing to bear, and I intend to repay with diligent service to the best of my ability.
Waziri referred to the Governor as a “personification of diligent patience and extraordinary sacrifice.”
“Most importantly, you and your able administration have treated us as fellow human beings and this we shall always cherish. Please accept our heartfelt gratitude.”
