Rotary Club of Abuja donates tricycles to polio survivors

The Rotary Club of Abuja Ministers Hill in collaboration with Wheel of Hope Foundation donated 10 tricycles to Polio survivors as part of the activities to mark World Polio Day. The donation was done at the closing ceremony of National Parasoccer Tournament organized by Parasoccer Federation of Nigeria supported by Rotary International.

George Hembah, the president of Rotary Club of Abuja Ministers Hill speaking to us after the event, told us that rotary club has been known to be supporting polio survivors and they are playing a vital role to ensure that Nigeria is Polio free including other reach outs embarked upon by the club. He informed us that they received 20 tricycles from Wheels of Hope Foundation, 10 has been distributed and the other 10 are yet to be distributed because they want to ensure that it is only those who are seriously in need of them, will get them. He used the opportunity to call anyone who knows someone truly needs a tricycle to reach the club and a tricycle will get to the person. He said that the club under his leadership have a lot life touching programmes lined up and we will get to know about when they are rolled out.

The event saw the attendance of Chief Emeka Offor, Mrs Bola Adegboye, Engr. M.B Nnoka, Dr. Esther Gidabo, Dr. Patrick Umagbale, Dr. Kazim Mustapha among others.

Rotary Club of Abuja in different occasions have assisted persons with disabilities with different kinds of mobility aids and at times financial assistance.
