NASPER Nnewi brings succor to PWDs and Other vulnerable groups

To show love that Christmas season is known for, Members of New Motorcycle Spare Past (NASPER) Uruagu Nnewi, have put smiles on the faces of Persons with Disabilities and other vulnerable groups by donating food items and beverages to them.

The gesture which is an annual ritual by the group for Seven years now according to the Chairman of the group, Mr Obinna Okechukwu, he also said that it is one way the group is given back to the society from all that God has blessed them with for a whole year.

He said that the event was designed to bring succour to Persons With Disabilities across Anambra State and other less privileged persons not leaving out those from correctional centres.

This year’s event has in attendance government officials and officials from the Nnewi Correctional Centre.

A member representing Nnewi North in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Nonso Okafor lauded the initiative of NASPER and encouraged them to continue with what they have successfully made an annual event saying that it will continue to be a blessing to them.

Also speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Trade, commence and Wealth Creation, Honourable Uchenna Okafor, represented by Honourable Ejike Ngolu eulogized the marketers over the event, urge them to continue the show of  kindness and love.

A guest preacher at the event, Reverend Ugwuja of Assemblies of God Church, Onitsha, used the opportunity to call on Ndi Anambra, especially the traders to always put their trust and belief in God, adding that no one can live a righteous life without believing in God.

According to the Chairman, Mr Okechukwu, the gesture is part of their efforts to sustain the Governor’s call and vision of celebrating and catering for the needy in the society.

 

In their separate remarks, Chief Humphery Anunu and Chief Leonard Onwuetugwu thanked NASPERS for their good gestures and called for the continuity of the programme.

 

Some of the Beneficiaries, including Miss Nneka Ofuonye, a blind student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Mrs Chizerum Ejikeakarughi among others expressed happiness over the gesture and asked God to bless and protect NASPERS members.

Highpoints of the event were, prayers for the executives of the market, distribution of the items by the Chairman to over five hundred Persons With Disabilities, among others things.
