ES, NCPWD James Lalu Tasks PWDs On Importance of Healthy Living

James David Lalu, Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons with disabilities has tasked Persons with Disabilities on the values of healthy living which he said, is in line with the goals of the Strategy and implementation plan of the federal Civil Service.

In a press release signed by Mbanefo JohnMicheals I, the head of Press and Public Relations, NCPWD, the ES made this charge in his office today during a brief ceremony while hosting Mr. Charles Achile Akoh, a Staff of the PRS Department, NCPWD who won a silver medal from playing the game of Drought at the ongoing Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) in Jos, Plateau State.

“Without hale and hearty personnel, the objective of positioning Civil Service in the right spot for effective service delivery will not be achievable” he said.

Appreciating the officials of the Commission’s Sports team for their efforts in excelling at the 41st edition of the Federation of Public Service Games, the ES stated that the games also offer a platform to strengthen unity, promote team spirit and excellent physical and mental health among public servants.

Lalu further said that Mr. Akoh’s accomplishment is a victory for the 35 million Persons with disabilities in Nigeria and a credit to the Commission.

In his response, the visibly elated Charles Akoh who is also a person with physical disabilities thanked the Executive Secretary and his management team for providing an enabling environment for members of the staff of the Commission to express themselves freely.

“My success is the success of the Commission and this is significantly enhanced in sharing this triumphant moment with everyone here” he said.
