Computer Appreciation Skill, A Seamless Route To widely Favoured Service Digitization–ES, NCPWD, James Lalu

The ES National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, Dr. James David Lalu has opined that in order to keep pace with the prevalent Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and the digitization approach in the Civil Service of the Federation, Persons with disabilities and other personnel of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities should master computer appreciation.

Lalu made this statement during an induction program organized by the Commission to give proper Service orientation to the additional 47 newly employed staff of the Commission in Abuja, today 25th January, 2024.

While addressing the newly recruited Staff, the Executive Secretary explained that Civil service is the component of the large public service which is centrally placed to provide guidance, advice, general supervision and coordination of government operations, both at the States and Federal levels.

“They are mostly responsible for ensuring that government policies are implemented properly and that services are delivered effectively; it is also your duty as Civil servants to play the important roles in providing advice and support to your Chief Executive officers and other government officials” he added.

The ES further said that every Civil servant is desirous of rising to sublime position in service before retirement and insisted that only the diligent ones and those who embrace the job with the dignity it deserves will attain to such heights as Directors and Permanent Secretaries.

He, therefore, enjoined them to adopt the virtues highlighted in the Public Service Rules as well as the Financial Regulations in order to create good images for themselves as “Master Civil Servants”.

The Induction program was held in fulfillment of the part VI , section 29 of the Discrimination Against Persons With Disabilities (Prohibition) Act, 2018.
