For those who have followed the disability rights movement over the past two decades, Gboyega’s name stands out as one of resilience, vision, and unwavering commitment. His contributions have helped shape conversations around inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities, making him one of the respected voices in Nigeria’s disability advocacy landscape.
My relationship with Gboyega dates back to 2008, when our paths crossed through our shared commitment to advancing the rights of persons with disabilities. What began as a professional relationship gradually evolved into a lasting friendship built on mutual respect, shared values, and a common vision of an inclusive Nigeria. Over the years, we have worked together through moments of hope, setbacks, victories, and challenges that have defined the disability movement.
Throughout his journey, Gboyega has consistently demonstrated that leadership is not about titles or public recognition.
