by Musliudeen Adebayo,

Mr. Segun Tomori, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to a former Governor of Nasarawa State, Mallam Tanko Al-Makura has confirmed that his principal has hearing impairment.

Tomori explained that the former governor belongs to the disability community and will at all times protect the interest of the disability community in the party.

Tomori made this disclosure at the weekend while responding to concerns raised by some supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the course of a Twitter Spaces discussion on the forthcoming National Convention of the ruling party.

DAILY POST gathered that Twitter Spaces is a new feature on the micro-blogging platform that allows users to have live audio conversations on the platform.

Our correspondent gathered that Al-Makura is one of the aspirants contesting for the post of national chairman of the party in the forthcoming national convention of the party.

Our correspondent reports that the concern over Al-Makura’s hearing ability came to the fore when one of the participants described the rowdiness that characterizes political activities and wondered how someone with some level of hearing loss like Almakura could effectively manage party affairs.

But, Tomori, the spokesman for Tanko Al-Makura Campaign Organisation, while speaking, admitted that the former governor uses hearing aids.

Tomori added that as APC Chairman, Al-Makura will strengthen what he has done, give access and more opportunities to persons with disability, because be feels their pain

“He has a hearing impairment so people with disabilities are his natural constituency. We should not be debating that because he is part of the constituency.”

“As APC Chairman he will strengthen what he has done, give access and more opportunities to persons with disabilities, because be feels their pain

“You won’t feel the pain of somebody if you don’t experience what they experience because he has hearing impairment which is considered a disability”.
