SSAP Hon. Abba Isa Champions Inclusive Agenda for Persons with Disabilities in Exclusive Meeting with Chief of Staff

In a groundbreaking move towards the fulfillment of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, orchestrated a pivotal closed-door meeting with the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, on February 14, 2024, at the Aso Rock Villa.

The clandestine rendezvous primarily focused on the holistic betterment of the lives of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria, underscoring a commitment to social inclusion and welfare enhancement.

A key facet of the discussion revolved around strategies to uplift PWDs by bolstering Medium, Small, and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs) tailored to their unique needs. The goal is to pave the way for a more inclusive economic landscape, aligning with President Tinubu’s vision for a society where every segment thrives under his administration.

Both high-profile aides, known for their unwavering advocacy for the Renewed Hope Agenda, delved into actionable plans for the integration of PWDs into governance structures at all levels. The meeting dissected ways to ensure that the dreams of Mr. President are translated into tangible initiatives, resonating with his overarching desire for a well-catered and accommodative society.

Of paramount importance was the exploration of avenues to provide palliatives aimed at improving the general welfare of PWDs. The discussion not only touched on immediate solutions but also unveiled a roadmap for long-term sustainable development, reflecting the depth of commitment to the cause.

Hon. Abba Isa, emerging from the closed-door session, passionately urged members of the disability community to maintain their diligence, productivity, and patience. He hinted at imminent developmental strides, instilling hope and anticipation within the PWD community.

This strategic engagement follows President Tinubu’s foresighted appointment of Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa in November 2023. Tasked with infusing disability perspectives into the fabric of Federal government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), Hon. Abba Isa shoulders the responsibility of ensuring total inclusive governance. The President’s mandate extends to fostering collaboration with Subnational authorities to formulate policies and environmental conditions conducive to the betterment of PWDs across Nigeria.

As news of this exclusive meeting reverberates, it marks a significant milestone in the relentless pursuit of inclusivity and equality. The commitment of these two influential figures underscores the administration’s dedication to leaving no segment of society behind, weaving an inspiring narrative of progress and hope.
