As we witness the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise which has commenced on Monday 28th July 2021, we oblige all persons with Disabilities. PWDs who are 18 years and above and first-time voters to take hold of this opportunity and register.
This CVR will be different from those in the past, the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) will register your disability status and type of disability.
The Independent Electoral Commission has set a pace deploring a handy digital means for the individual registration process via the INEC pre-registration portal. With this recent development, we hope/anticipate the registration exercise will come with luxuries and comfort as the online pre-registration will enable unregistered voters begins registration within their comfort zones and also schedule an appointment for biometric physical capture which is to commence later 19th July 2021.
Worthy of note, components of the registration portal include services such as re-registration, voter review, voter transfer, information update, PVC collection, PVC replacement, etc.
You can visit https://cvr.inenigeria.org or https://cvr.inec.gov.ng and register. For Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) that registered years ago without any form of disability, there is a need to update your status and your disability cluster.
Your information will help in ensuring accessibility at registration and election venues. We implore PWDs whose Permanent Voters Card is either damaged, defaced or lost and those who wish to transfer or change their voting location from the present one to seize the opportunity to register.
Having a Permanent Voters Card (PVC) is a primary necessity for democratic transition processes most importantly, a government that will be all-inclusive thus, the CVR exercise will allow PWDs to own a PVC to participate in elections. We should show commitment to this course as it’s our civic right as Statesmen and our civic responsibility.
The dream of actualizing an all-inclusive government begins when we show resilience to the course and owning-up the democratic transition processes where #DisabilityVotesCount.
Kindly encourage other PWDs who do not have a PVC to participate and register.
Inclusive Friends Association accolades INEC Nigeria for totting a pace in the electoral process to avoid stress and congestions. We congratulate our veracious PWDs as the commit to joining the course in consolidating democracy.
