VDI Forges Strong Alliance with FIDA to Empower Women with Disabilities

In a significant step towards advocating for the rights and well-being of women with disabilities, the Voice of Disability Initiative (VDI) conducted a Courtesy, Advocacy, and Collaborative Visit to the National Headquarters of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) in Abuja on Monday, February 26, 2024.

The visit saw the dynamic team from VDI, led by Executive Director Barr Edeh Catherine C and Program Manager Mr Edward Ogenyi, warmly welcomed by FIDA’s leadership, represented by Mr Fikili Obaro on behalf of Vice President Barr Amina Suzanah Agbaje.

Delving into crucial discussions, VDI brought to light the formidable challenges faced by women with disabilities in their pursuit of justice, healthcare, education, and economic opportunities. Barr Catherine, with unwavering determination, underscored the need for inclusive legal frameworks and policies that champion the dignity and rights of every woman, regardless of ability.
