NDW launches a Leadership club for young girls with disabilities at School for the Blind, Jabi, Abuja

Network of Disabled Women(NDW) on 27th October, 2021 launched another Leadership School Club for young Girls with Disabilities at School for the Blind Jabi, Abuja.

The President of NDW, Lois Auta addressing the students said that the meeting is to establish a leadership club in the school. She also said that the set-up of this club is to see young girls becoming great leaders, like the president, governors, senators, and other aspiring political position and to be able to speak about their challenges.

Speaking further, she said that NDW is excited to engage the girls under the Women’s Voice and Leadership project supported by ActionAid, and the leadership club will build their confidence, and also give them the voice to be able to participate in any leadership forum.

Constance Onyemaechi, the communication officer at NDW, while launching the leadership club said the club needs to have a name and that name will come from the students, and the name will go with the one that has the highest vote, after the votes the “THIS ABLED GIRL POWER CLUB” got the highest votes.

Lois Auta Udonkanta, the President, NDW said that the NDW team in their next visit will officially inaugurate the leaders of the club, give them leadership manual, monitor their leadership skills, and finally visit them monthly to see how far they have gone and to ensure that they maintain the momentum.

TQM earlier reported that NDW have established a leadership club at GSS, Kuje, Abuja and Safehost International Academy, Kurudu, Abuja.

In her closing remarks she appreciated the school management, NDW team and the pupils of the School for the Blind Jabi, Abuja.
