Amidst an elated and joyous atmosphere, the National Commission for Persons With Disabilities took the community of Karon Majigi by storm recently, to deliver relief items and assistive devices that will aid mobility of PWDs.
Addressing the natives, the Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons With Disabilities, Mr James David Lalu who was represented by the Ag. Director Department of Social Integration NCPWD, Mr. Lawrence Idemudia reiterated his commitment to the mandate of the Commission by demonstrating the concept of “leaving no one behind”, a cliche the Commission adopted recently.
In a press release signed by The Head, Media and Publicity, NCPWD, Mbanefo JohnMicheal I, the NCPWD Boss re-echoed President Muhammadu Buhari’s resolve to making lives better for Persons with Disabilities through the provision of accessible roads, Free medical care and education.
Lalu said the food items will help cushion the harsh effects of the biting economy; and that he would continue to heed the call to affect humanity especially the community of PWDs.
In an ecstatic mood, the Chief/ Emir of Karon Majigi, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammed Katsina thanked the ES for identifying with his People, especially at this trying period of time. He went ahead to mentioned that ES should help look into the issue of monthly stipends for the chiefs- in- council as their upkeep for administrative purposes.
Finally, he prayed that Almighty God will continue to grant wisdom and strength to the ES and his team.
