Miss Health Beauty Pageant Nigeria 2019/2020, Queen Imelda James on Chrismas day donated three wheelchairs and food items to persons with disabilities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This was done during her End of the Health Campaign and Charity Reachout to mark Chrismas celebration.
During a press time, Queen James said that it is her passion to always reach out to the less privileged ones that drive her into these donations.
“I decided to reach out to them with these items to show them love as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ”.
She said that it is not only the persons with disabilities that she will reach out to, she will equally reach out to other less privileged such as orphans and motherless children.
“As an advocate of healthcare services in Nigeria, it is my desire that health awareness is provided through means to prevent unfortunate and preventable health-related fatalities” she added.
She seeks for sponsorship and support of Nigerians and donor agencies to enable her do more in the area of health awareness creation.
Mrs. Kemi Babalola, a beneficiary of one of the wheelchairs appreciated the queen for her kind gesture, describing the gift as the best ever she had received at Christmas. She prayed to God to grant more blessing to Queen James so that she can reach out to more people in need. Mrs. Babalola became a person with disability as result of road accident which affect her spinal cord.
St. Mary’s Catholic Hospital, Gwagwalada got one of the wheelchairs and other was given to a young man who also needed it badly.
TQM learnt that food items such as noodles, drinks, vegetable oil etc were distributed in places such as Lugbe and Sulka airport road.
