BOLD Hearts Network in partnership with Center for Women, Faith & Leadership (CWFL) organized a workshop on Sexual Gender Based Violence for Women with Disabilities in Port Harcourt, Rivers State tagged CWFL /BOLD Hearts Capstone Project
In a press release signed by The Convener of Bold Heart Network, Ndifreke Andrew-Essien, talks focused on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and the concept of Sexual Gender Based Violence for Women and Girls with disabilities, Understanding Sexual Gender Based Violence- SGBV against women and girls with disabilities, The Power of sharing our Stories.
The highpoint of the workshop, was the experience sharing session, where women with disabilities shared their stories on SGBV.
As devastated as some of these stories were, it was amazing to see women move from victims, to become survivors.
The experience sharing session also served as a psychological exercise geared at removing the muzzle that has threatened so many women with disabilities with silence.
The workshop recorded a huge success and other partners of the project were the World Council of Churches and FAECARE Foundation.
