“Buhari’s Legacy On Disability Inclusion Lives On”–ES, NCPWD James David Lalu

The Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons With Disabilities, Mr James David Lalu has restated that the lasting legacies of former president, MUHAMMADU BUHARI will not be forgotten in a hurry.

The ES made this assertion during a courtesy visit to the home of the former President recently in Daura, Katsina State.

Lalu extolled the sincere commitment of the former President which became evident since 2015 during his presidential campaigns.

According to the ES, the campaign tour provided the platform towards unveiling a national disability right advocacy plan in Nigeria.

“This eventually led to the establishment of the National Commission for Persons With Disabilities in 2020, and I am particularly grateful to be the first Executive Secretary of the Commission and also would want to appreciate the former President on behalf of over 30 million Persons With Disabilities spread across Nigeria, history will forever be kind to your unwavering passion,” he said.

The Commission’s boss further described the host as an enigmatic grand defender of disability rights in Nigeria whose records will remain fresh in the minds of the entire disability community.

The former President, Muhammadu Buhari who became emotional by the turn of the event equally thanked the delegation for deeming it fit to check on his welfare outside office.

The elder statesman recounted that his actions towards Persons With Disabilities while in office was a true reflection of his mind and passion to entrench disability rights across the board so as to give them equal access to good life in the society.
