The Borno Assembly has adopted a Bill seeking To Establish Borno State Board For Persons With Disabilities and has referred the bill to two committees.
Hon. Ajikolo Khadi,Chairman House committee on Governors office & member representing Jere constituency. And they have expressed total support to the proposed bill for the establishment of Board for persons with disabilities in the state.
In his contributory remark,The lawmaker stated that such board when fully establish will go a long way in ameliorating the hardships face by persons with disabilities and will serve as an avenue that will make them to become self reliant and further cited that there are a lot of potentialities among persons with disabilities that will make them contribute to the growth and development of the society.
At the end of the plenary, RT.Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan, the speaker of the house referred the bill to the committee of Sports and women to workout modalities for the smooth passage of the bill into law.
It was learnt that the committee has two weeks to submit its report for further legislative actions to be put in place towards passing the bill into law.
The session was adjourned plenary to next week.
