ILE-IFE, Osun State – The disability community in Ile-Ife has joined thousands of sympathizers across Nigeria in mourning the death of Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi, the elder brother of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.
Leading the tributes, a respected disability rights advocate and community leader in Ile-Ife, Onitju Kehinde, described the late prince’s passing as a painful loss not only to the Ogunwusi royal family but also to the entire Ile-Ife community, where he was widely admired for his humility, generosity, and commitment to the welfare of the people.
The news of Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi’s death has cast a cloud of grief over the ancient kingdom of Ile-Ife, with mourners from different walks of life paying glowing tributes to a royal figure remembered for his simplicity, peaceful disposition, and dedication to community development.

“We received the news of Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi’s passing with profound sadness. This is not just a loss to the Ogunwusi family but to the entire House of Oduduwa and the people of Ile-Ife. He was a humble, kind-hearted, and community-focused individual whose life reflected peace, compassion, and selfless service,” he said.
Kehinde noted that the disability community in Ile-Ife stands in solidarity with the Ooni of Ife and the royal household during this difficult period, emphasizing that the late prince’s legacy of humility and humanity will continue to inspire many.
On behalf of persons with disabilities in Ile-Ife, he conveyed heartfelt condolences to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ogunwusi royal family, traditional chiefs, and the people of Ile-Ife over the irreparable loss.
He prayed for divine strength and comfort for the royal family, asking God to grant them the courage to bear the painful loss while praying for the peaceful repose of Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi’s soul.
