Groups partner To Organize 3-Month Vocational Skill Training for Persons With Disabilities In Ekiti State

As part of the Youth development goal of Ekiti NYCN, the Council has opened partnership with Princess Omotayo Adenike Foundation to commence A 3-month Vocational Skill training by first week of October, 2023 as 20 members are set to enroll from each of the four clusters for first batch to train 100 Youths in Ekiti State.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Ekiti State Chapter has concluded partnership arrangements with the leadership of Princess Omotayo Adenike Foundation on training of youth with disabilities across the State.

The meeting which has the heads of the Cluster organizations under the Joint Association of Persons with Disabilities provided a work plan to inculcate youths with disabilities in the project.

Speaking to the representatives of the organizations, the Ekiti State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Ekiti State Chapter, Hon. Famuyibo Oluwasegun said the programme is designed to keep Persons with Disabilities in form and active, as idleness may cause more damage to their health.

My team and I honoured the idea of our Vice Chairman (South) Com. Awopetu Gideon, who wrote a proposal requesting for Skill Acquisition training of Persons With Disabilities. We immediately contacted the CEO of Princess Omotayo Adenike Foundation, being the Foundation known to the Council for 9 Months and we are proud of what they do for the less privileged youth in the Ekiti State.

We are happy that over 100 youth will benefit from the first batch, as we hope to do more at the second batch. All beneficiaries will be able to learn various skills acquisition like Fashion Design, Soap Making, Shoe and Bags, Hair Dressing, etc.

The CEO of the Foundation, Princess Omotayo Adenike appreciates the leadership of NYCN in Ekiti State for willing to support the Special People and promise to put in her best in bringing out the best from all the beneficiaries.

Responding on behalf of the Heads of the Cluster organizations, Com. Awopetu Gideon (VC South NYCN) who is also an active member of the Association for the Deaf, Ekiti State Chapter appreciate his Co-Excos in NYCN for trusting him, he as well admonished members of all clusters to utilize the opportunity for their betterment.
