NDW Enhances Capacity of WWDs Groups On Financial Management, Safeguarding And Others

Network of Disabled Women NDW on Wednesday 29th June, 2022 organized a one-day training of NDW’s project supported by Disability Rights Fund (DRF).

Rose Daniel, Vice President of NDW in her speech acknowledged DRF for giving NDW the opportunity to organize this capacity organization of women with disabilities(WWDs) strengthening on financial management, NGO governance and organization safeguarding.

It is part of the NDW activities geared towards building for women with disabilities.

Speaking further, she said the training is for women with disabilities (WWDs) from different organizations especially the leaders and finance officers and the training is on financial management, NGO governance and safeguarding.

She said that participants that benefited from the training, it will help them do their work diligently, and proper management of their organizations and finance department.

She further mentioned that the training has 21 participants and NDW has brought expertise in their various fields to help enlighten the trainees on how best they can manage the financial department of their various organizations and come othe leaders and finance officers and the training is on financial management, NGO governance and safeguaut with transparent results.

Emmanuel Ayogu, project officer in his speech said that the training will broaden the horizon of participants in NGO governance and ensure proper management in their various organization and that is why they have selected organizational leaders and financial officers to participate in the training and after which they expect them to go back to their various organization and educate them on what they have learnt and how best they will put it in practice and ensure effective result. He also mentioned that the participants will be issued certificate of participation.

NDW ensured that expertise and consultants like Mr. Solomon Imoje, who took participants on financial management, participants brainstormed on the topic through group work and also made presentations on what they learnt.

Biodun Bukky Ogundipe, a consultant, enlightened the participants on NGO governance which was an interactive session and Mr. Fabia Tukmen educated them on organization safeguarding policies and practices.

Bibian Yinkere a participant of the training appreciated NDW for organizing such an impactful training saying its coming at the right time because sometimes organizations do not know how to manage their financial department and they do not give proper account on some of the contribution made by supporters but this training has made her learnt so many things on NGO governance and safeguarding policies and also in the issue of financial management it will help her organization manage properly.

At the end of the training participants were given certificate of participation and most of them shared the issues which they face in their various organizations during the interactive sessions with the consultants.
