EduTrust Foundation have chosen Duchess Irene Ojiugo Patrick-Ogbogu, the founder and Executive Director of Disability Rights Advocacy Center (DRAC)as their personality of the week.
The Foundatiion disclosed this through their official Facebook page where they described the Disability rights Advocate as SRHR champion, creating access for women and girls with disabilities.
They acknowledged that through DRAC, Dr. Irene has used education as a powerful tool to create access, empower and advocate for the rights/inclusion of women and girls with disabilities in Nigeria. This is in addition to all the numerous intervention projects her organization implements.
Early in the week, the Foundatiion talked about family planning which they also acknowledged that Dr. Irene is one of the champions for it, they also described her as an unsung hero for a minority group whose voices need to be amplified.
“We see all you do and we appreciate your work, Irene. Education is power for sensitization and you are a champion”, they added.
