Urges wealthy Nigerians to alleviate suffering

President of Rotary Club of Ewutuntun, Lagos, Bamidele Adegbola, and the Coordinator of Sure Testimony Home for the Physically Challenged and Orphans, Olodo, Ibadan, Mrs. Florence Oludamola, have urged wealthy individuals to help alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.
They spoke at the commissioning of Rotary District 9110 and Rotary Club of Ewutuntun water project for the orphanage and Omolaso Olodo Bank community in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The District 9110 Governor, Bola Oyebade, commissioned the project.
The club’s intervention followed the scarcity of water in the home and the discovery that people trekked long distances to get water.Read
Consequently, the club decided to build a water plant for the orphanage and the whole community. The plant comprises three tanks of 15,000 litres, which is already treated to make it drinkable.
Speaking at the commissioning, Adegbola said: “We did this project in furtherance of our mission to help humanity.
Those who have money should always use it for the betterment of others. If one dies today, he or she is going with nothing. Anything you have done to make an impact is what will be remembered.”
On her part, Oludamola expressed happiness over the siting of the project in the home and the community.
She said: “We still need a lot of support because we are just starting. The government should come to the aid of persons living with disabilities, especially children.
“Some of their parents are worn out due to lack of support. A lot of them are being abandoned. Other privileged Nigerians should, in any way, help the underprivileged.”
