Voice of Disability Initiative(VDI) in collaboration with Disability Rights Fund (DRF) on Saturday, 1st May, 2021 in Abuja organized a 1-day Staff Capacity Strengthening Training.
The objective of the program is to have VDI Staff and Volunteers gain comprehensive understanding of capacity building/development to help nurture their commitment in championing advocacy and prepare them with requisite skills necessary for carrying out projects in Abuja and Nigeria as a whole.
The Chief Executive Officer of VDI, Barrister Catherine Edeh in her welcome address, appreciated the staff and volunteers of VDI for finding time to be at the training workshop. She assured them of continued teamwork to achieve VDI goal of an inclusive society.
Speaking further, she informed them that the training will afford them the opportunity to have a better understanding of project management so that they can acquire the requisite expertise that will enhance cooperation and efficiency in order to achieve the inclusive society that have always been their desire.
The Resource person, Mrs. Ijeoma Idika-Chima who is a well experienced development worker, a certified child protection officer, a Mandela Washington Fellow, two twice Presidential award winner and the Founder, Teenz Global Foundation took the participants through project implementation, financial management and project reporting.
The training also witnessed group work to get the participants design implementation plan of project activities to ascertain the level of understanding of the project implementation and management of funds in the project.
Certificate of Participation was presented to all staff and volunteers who participated in the training.
TQM learnt that the training would serve as a guide for VDI Team’s planning and implementation of projects across Nigeria.
