Safehost international Initiative schools on Friday 16th July 2021 in Abuja celebrated her 3rd graduation ceremony with some children with disabilities as graduands.
Mrs. Ngozi Belolisa, the school proprietress, in her opening speech appreciated the parents, the pupils, and their guest for gracing their graduation ceremony. She further stated that the school’s vision is to educate a child how to live independently which is the objective of the school, it is all about bringing them up in such a way that when they leave, it will be easier to adapt to the environment they found themselves in the society. The proprietress said that they use daily positive words to enrich the spirit mind of the pupils.
She also said that they are trained to utilize their potentials to fulfil purpose and impact society through functional education. She acknowledged that God has given each child potentials and the ways to enhance those potentials and not just to impact in our lives but in the society, and that is why they celebrate their pupils in every given opportunity, teaching them morals as well, such as Valentine’s Day, we teach them what love is and they celebrated together with the vulnerable children, Cultural day, we teach them different cultures, and the unity in diversity of our country.
She stated that Safehost International school is an inclusive environment, every child is welcome with or without disabilities and there are professionals who always guarantee conducive environment to meet every child’s need.
“Today, some children with disabilities are graduating alongside other children with good grades, some of the awardees are also children with disabilities” she added.
She concluded by promising the parents that they would be entertained by these children so that they will see the abilities inherent in the children.
The pupils participated in so many activities as part of the graduation ceremony such as eloquent welcome address from one of the graduands, melodious welcome song, awards presentation which two children with disabilities were rewarded for neatness and extraordinary care for others, presentations by different classes including children with disabilities, dancing, drama, gifts presentation to the first positions of each class and other outstanding pupils including pupils with disabilities and other interesting activities that made the day memorable.
In closing remarks, Mrs. Ngozi Belolisa expressed her gratitude to the pupils, teachers for being exceptional in performing their duties, the therapists and caregivers for being professional in taking proper of the children with disabilities, the parents of the pupils and invited guests.
She prayed for their safety till next session and also better and she wished those going to secondary school well and urged them to carry the name of the school and the inclusiveness of the school to other schools acknowledging that every child is special.
