Kebbi State, Nigeria – The disability community in Nigeria has reason to celebrate as Abdullahi Aliyu Usman, the National President of the Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD), was recently appointed as the first Executive Secretary of the Kebbi State Commission for Persons with Disabilities. This landmark appointment has garnered widespread commendation from across the country, including from the Executive Director of The Qualitative Magazine (TQM) and the founder of JOMIDA Foundation for Persons with Disabilities, Comrade Chris Obiora Agbo.
In a heartfelt message, the Executive Director of TQM joined other well-meaning Nigerians in congratulating Usman on his appointment, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of his tireless efforts in championing the rights of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria. In addition to his advice on policy implementation, the TQM Executive Director also encouraged Usman to adopt an open-door policy and embrace inclusive governance. I encourage Usman to focus on creating a supportive and cohesive network among these groups.”
The TQM Executive Director concluded his message by congratulating Usman once again on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to excel in his new role. He also commended the Kebbi State Governor for appointing an individual with such a proven track record to lead the commission.
