In conjunction to TAF Africa rebranding announced on today 12th May, 2023 in Abuja. TAF Africa also announced the appointment of three new members of their Board of Trustees.
The Chairman of The Board, Prof. Vincent Anigbogu while announcing the appointment of these BOT Members told the Press that they are individuals who will bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and gender balance to TAF Africa.
He said that they are excited to have them join their team.
“As a civil society organization that promotes equal access to opportunities and resources for persons who might otherwise be excluded, we are committed to creating a society that is more inclusive and equitable for all. Our new board members share this commitment and will help us to advance our mission and vision” he added.
The new board members are Dr. Toyin Aderemi- Balogun, she is the first indigenous Country Representative of CBM Nigeria, an experienced disability-inclusive development practitioner and researcher working on development policies for social inclusion. She has a background on public health with expertise in disability-inclusive sexual and reproductive health and rights and a Ph.D on Behavioral Medicine.
Hajiya Amina Zakari, a disability rights advocate and a certified pharmacist which saw her working on various projects. Former National Electoral Commissioner at INEC appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan where her mandate was to supervise political parties through the Political Parties Monitoring Committee. She also chaired the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) with responsibility for party system consolidation. Until her appointment as Acting Chairman, INEC on 30 June 2015, She was the Chairman of the INEC Planning Monitoring And Strategy Committee effective November, 2014.
Hajiya Zainab Suleiman Usman, a business leader with extensive experience in Agric business development and strategic planning. She has 13 years of professional experience addressing rural development challenges and technical expertise in cluster farming, community-based natural resource management and gender mainstreaming in vulnerable groups. She has a hands-on experience in project implementation, coupled with proven expertise in coordinating community of practice in Agric business.
Hajiya Amina Zakari speaking on behalf of the newly appointed BOT Members promised that they will bring their wealth of experience and expertise to ensure that TAF Africa achieve their mission and vision.
The founder and CEO of TAF Africa, Amb. Jake Epelle expressed confidence on the new BOT members saying that they will help to build on the strong foundation they have already established and take TAF Africa to the next level.
