The Persons With Disabilities  (PWDs) in sokoto are not left out in this year’s celebration of International Day for Persons With Disabilities as the they celebrated it in style with colors the Sokoto State government under the office of the Special Adviser hon Abdulazeez ibrahim gave it.

The excited SA made it clear that they have never been given this opportunity until when the most disability friendly Governor RT hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal fulfilled his promise by giving PWDs this Office, since then a lot has been achieved in terms of our wellbeing of PWDs in Sokoto State,

“We were enrolled in health insurance scheme where we were registered and giving ID cards which we will always present at the hospitals and get medical care free. We will forever be thankful” says the SA.

He added huge amount of money was given to PWDs in the 23 local government some months ago for their welfare and remarkably, the Governor has already signed Disability bill into law which made Sokoto State among the leading state when it comes to supporting PWDs.

“We celebrated this day differently, with the Leprosy mission and give care to young persons with disabilities and we matched to the sokoto Central Park to synergize with NURTW in terms of our transportation, and we will go to more authorities to sensitize them”.

“We celebrated with State 2 State the following day,  a communique was raised and they promised to give us all the help we needed”.
