Parents and caregivers have been advised to make their children of less than 5 years of age available for vaccination as Kaduna State commences another round of polio immunization campaign.
The exercise is scheduled for 11th – 14th September, 2021 and would be conducted through House-to-House visits, streets and markets, motor parks among others.
A statement signed by the State Coordinator, Journalists Initiative on Immunization Against Polio (JAP) Lawal A. Dogara spoke of the benefits derivable from the exert.
The immunization, the statement said would enable the children grow healthier hence the need for parents to try and ensure they allowed the vaccinators to attend to their wards.
JAP explained that all adequate arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the exercise by the State Government, Development partners and other stakeholders.
JAP further explained that during the exercise, a lot of interventions will be provided such as health camps especially in the high-risk areas.
JAP commended Traditional and Religious Leaders for their effort and urged them to put in more efforts for the success of the exercise.
JAP also commended the World Health Organization for partnering with JAP with a view to educating the parents and the general public on the importance of immunization.
It appealed to ad-hoc staff engaged in the conduct of Polio immunization to ensure all eligible children are reached .
JAP explained that Covid-19 vaccination is currently on, and advised people to give all the needed support by ensuring that they are vaccinated.
