NCPWD employs 15 Sign language Interpreters, deploys them to other MDAs

The National Commission for Persons with disabilities (NCPWD) has employed 15 Sign Language Interpreters and would be deploying them to MDAs.

The Executive Secretary of NCPWD, Mr. James David Lalu, made this public during the visit of Association of Sign Language Interpreters of Nigeria (ASLIN) to his office on Friday.

The group visited the ES after their two day workshop to appreciate him for his support and also the commission’s effort of bringing the experts from USA on Sign Language to review sign language communication program at Federal University, Lafia, Nasarawa State.

The ES who was so excited about the visit while thanking them for the service to Deaf Community in Nigeria, announced that the commission had employed 15 Sign language interpreters, and would soon deploy them to different ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) of Government.
