NATIONAL ALBINISM DAY: AAN extols JAMB on disability inclusion, as extra examination time extends to PWA

The Albinism Association of Nigeria (AAN) has commended The Registrar of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, Prof. Oloyede for being disability inclusive in approving to an extended examination time and special arrangement for PWDs who will participate in the exam come this weekend.

The President of the group and the founder of The Albino Foundation disclosed this during a press conference marking the National Albinism Day.

In his speech, he informed the press that Candidates with albinism will be granted an extra time in the forthcoming University Matriculation Examination and urged persons with albinism(PWA) who are candidates at this year’s JAMB to reach out to The Albino Foundation for further inquiries but he also urged them to introduce themselves to their invigilators so that they will be able to enjoy these privileges.

Speaking further, he said that the gesture is in line with JAMB policy to include blind people which they have now extended to persons with albinism because of their low vision.

TQM reports that JAMB appointed Mr. Jake Epelle, Ishiaku Adamu, President, Nigeria Association of the Blind (NAB), Mr. Abdullahi Usman Aliyu, National President, Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD) as invigilators, and they also served in JAMB planning committee chaired by Prof. Bukola.
