“Let There Be Peace On The Plateau Again”-ES, NCPWD, James Lalu advocates

Following the incessant carnage that has taken tole on the people of Plateau State in recent times, it has become expedient for the Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons with Disabilities Dr. James David Lalu, an illustrious son of Mangu local government Area of Plateau State to call for peace to reign in the communities.

This was as a result of the killing of about 96 Persons in some parts of Barkin Ladi, Mangu and Bokkos local Government Areas of Plateau State on the Eve of Christmas, 2023.

Addressing a group of Persons with Disabilities in Jos, Plateau State today 29th December, 2023 the ES reiterated that Plateau State was known for its serene and peaceful atmosphere which endeared the Colonialists to Nigeria prior to independence.

He also stated that Plateau State was a quintessential tourist site which aided the economy of Nigeria but, the State is fast losing that attraction to insecurity occasioned by the frequent attacks on innocent citizens of the State.

He further called on the security operatives to step up and salvage the State from becoming a place of anarchy and abcenity.

“Today I join thousands of our people who lost their loved ones to these gruesome attacks to sue for peace, human life is sacred and must be regarded as such” he said.

The ES equally enjoined everyone to take issues of security very seriously as security issues are everybody’s business.

However, the attacks were carried out by some yet to be identified assailants on the 24/12/2023 at odd hours of the night.
