One of the leading Disability advocacy organizations in Nigeria, Inclusive Friends Association (IFA) in partnership with Action for Change and Empowerment – A.C.E has concluded the first phase of their wheelchair drive with a total of 29 wheelchairs given to PWDs in dire need of enhanced and sustainable mobility aid across the North Central states of Nigeria.
Eight PWDs benefited from the program in Benue State, Eleven PWDs in the FCT, Abuja, Seven PWDs, including a child with cerebral palsy, benefited from the program in Plateau State.
The IFA-ACE Wheelchair Drive promises to deliver up to 100 wheelchairs to persons with mobility challenges across Nigeria.
In a message, we got from the official Facebook page of IFA, they said that the objective is to help persons with physical disabilities navigate their physical environment, improve their commute, and foster their interaction with their immediate communities and the wider society.
“This would further empower them to pursue sustainable livelihoods and enhance their ability to take up economic and employment opportunities”.
