TQM Report,
Access Bank PLC, friends and family of Centre for Youth Studies partnered to renovate and equip the Resource Centre for the Special needs students in King’s College Junior, Lagos State in tandem with the maxim, “no one left behind.”
The resource centre had a value-adding facelift with tiling, repairs, painting and electrical works done prior to equipping it with a six cubicle computer table, five State-of-the-art desktop computers, a printer/scanner, two wall fans, an Evo E5 digital recorder player (hardware) and a twenty-shelf locker. All the computers have the current Assistive technology training software installed for more inclusive education and to prepare the students ahead for tertiary level education and the workplace.
In attendance at the dedication and handover programme on June 15, 2021 were Dr Olufolayimika Ayandele, Tutor General/ Permanent Secretary Education District III, Lagos State, Principal and Vice Principals of King’s College, Dr Adebukola Adebayo, Chairman, Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Lagos State and the General Manager, Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs, Mr Oluwadamilare Ogundairo.
After almost a decade of not having a functional resource centre for the special needs students, those in the school now have a vision of a brighter tomorrow.
