TQM report,
The hard working six children of Mrs. Grace Ugwoke celebrated their mother’s 70 years birthday in style.
An event which took place on Easter Sunday brought together relations, friends and well wishers at The prestigious Ikenga Hotel, Nsukka, Enugu State.
The event also provided an opportunity for the unveiling of Grace Ugwoke Foundation which has been their mother’s wish to empower widows and orphans.
Her son, Ejike Ugwoke Oscar while welcoming the dignitaries informed them about the essence of the foundation and what the foundation was designed to achieve. He said that the whole idea of the foundation started from the fact that their mother brought up six of them as a widow. She struggled all the way as a school teacher to send her six children to the University to acquire the best of education and they all came out as super graduates and they now have good jobs and earn beautiful salaries.
He recalled when his mother had to sell her expensive wrapper at give away price to send him back to school which was one of his motivating factors to succeed in life and today, her mother would be giving out wrappers to some widows.
“So, looking at all her struggles, and thank God for helping her, it is her wish to help other widows and her love for education have also made her to desire to encourage orphans to go to school” he added.
He remembered when their mother would pay for an indigent child from her salary simply because she would not send the child away for not being able to pay school fees.
He called on his friends to rally around their mother to help her actualize her wish of putting smiles on the faces of widows and orphans.
