Governor Sule’s Aide, Chumbis Moses, Empowers 1,000 Vulnerable Persons in Wamba

In a significant humanitarian gesture, Mr. Chumbis Moses, the Special Assistant on Market Management to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, has successfully empowered over 1,000 underprivileged individuals in Wamba Local Government Area. The empowerment program, which took place recently, is part of Moses’ ongoing commitment to alleviate economic hardship and support the most vulnerable in society.

A Lifeline for the Underprivileged

The initiative, which Moses described as a response to the growing economic challenges faced by many Nigerians, was designed to provide immediate relief to those most in need. During the flag-off ceremony, Moses highlighted that this program aligns with Governor Sule’s broader agenda of enhancing the livelihoods of Nasarawa State residents.

“I am deeply concerned about the economic difficulties that our people are facing. This empowerment program is my way of contributing to their well-being and supporting Governor Sule’s efforts in making life better for our citizens,” Moses said.

The beneficiaries, drawn from various communities within Wamba, including Mama, Kwarra, Arum, and Marhi villages, received a range of support items and financial aid. Specifically, Moses distributed 1.5 million Naira in cash, 500 pieces of wrappers, three sets of football jerseys, and ten cartons of seasonings. These items were carefully chosen to address both immediate needs and to provide a source of income for the recipients.

Empowering Women and Promoting Unity

A significant portion of the beneficiaries were women, who received the bulk of the wrappers and cash gifts. The program also had a special focus on promoting peace and unity within the community. To this end, Moses organized a peace and unity football tournament in honor of the fifth anniversary of the Gwom Mama of Mama Chiefdom. The winning teams were rewarded with sets of jerseys, underscoring the role of sports in fostering community ties.

Speaking at the event, Moses reiterated his dedication to Governor Sule’s vision of a prosperous and inclusive Nasarawa State. “This program is not just about giving out money or materials; it’s about showing our people that they are not forgotten, that they are an essential part of our state’s future,” he emphasized.

Community Leaders Praise the Initiative

The empowerment program drew the attention of several dignitaries, including traditional rulers and community leaders who lauded Moses’ efforts. The Hakimi of Arum, Danladi Gbaja, and the Matawallen Mama, Kasimu Halilu, were particularly vocal in their praise. They noted that such initiatives play a crucial role in uplifting the less fortunate and contribute significantly to the social stability of the region.

“The support given to these vulnerable populations is not just a short-term relief; it’s a long-term investment in the stability and progress of our communities,” Danladi Gbaja remarked.

Kasimu Halilu added, “We are deeply appreciative of Mr. Moses and the governor for their unwavering commitment to the well-being of our people. This empowerment initiative will go a long way in easing the burdens faced by many families in our communities.”

A Legacy of Compassion and Service

Moses’ empowerment program is just one example of his ongoing efforts to improve the lives of Nasarawa State’s most vulnerable citizens. His work complements Governor Sule’s broader developmental strategies, which prioritize the welfare of all residents, particularly those in marginalized communities.

As the program concluded, the smiles and expressions of gratitude from the beneficiaries underscored the impact of Moses’ initiative. For many, the support received through this program represents not just a reprieve from economic hardship but also a message of hope and inclusion.

Governor Sule’s administration, through aides like Chumbis Moses, continues to demonstrate a deep commitment to fostering a state where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their socio-economic status. The Wamba empowerment program stands as a testament to what can be achieved when leadership is paired with compassion and a genuine desire to serve the people.
