Gombe orphanage home pleads for gov’t, individuals’ assistance

An orphanage home in Tumfure community of Gombe state known as Da’awa Orphanage’ on Tuesday pleaded with the state government and wealthy individuals to support them through financial contributions.

Chairman of the orphanage home Dr Babayo Kolo made the plea during their management periodic evaluation meeting.

Kolo revealed that the orphanage expends the sum of N12 million annually in catering for their orphans noting that they need assistance to sustain the gesture.

He said they also plan to build Islamiyya classes for the benefit of orphans and vulnerable children.

He commended Dr Bala Bello Tinka for taking care of their staff’s monthly salaries asking other philanthropists to also support them in another aspects.

“The orphanage was established on the 6th February 2011 with eight orphans and we now have 63 boys and girls”. The chairman explained.

Also speaking, an official in the orphanage Mrs Zainab Adamu Abubakar appealed to the state government to provide a health facility in the orphanage home.
