The National President, Joint National Association of Person with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Abdullahi Aliyu Usman has appealed to Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State to urgently fulfil the promises he made to JONAPWD members.
He made this known yesterday while fielding questions from our correspondent.
According to him the Kebbi State Government had promised that each person with disability will get skill acquisition training and would be given a house each.
He stated that the Governor also assured them that they would enjoy free education and other social amenities
Usman called on the Governor to sign the discrimination against person with disabilities bill, just as President Buhari did.
He explained that the bill is before the Ministry of Justice and that when the governor signs it into law it will enable persons with disabilities to enjoy freedom and inclusiveness in all aspects of society.
He urged the Nigeria Government to recognize and appreciate some donor agencies who have been supportive to the wellbeing of persons with for a very long time.
“You see some of our members are innovative in terms of technology, so we urgently need government support to elevate the suffering of our people” he concluded.
