Empowering Women with Disabilities: EDC’s Transformative 3-Day Training Program in Iwo Zone, Osun State

In a dynamic and inclusive move towards fostering self-reliance and professional growth among young women with disabilities, the Enterprise Development Center (EDC) on 22nd to 24th August, 2024 concluded a highly impactful 3-day training program at Iwo Zone comprised Ayedire, Ola-Oluwa, Iwo, Ayedaade, Irewole and Isokan LG. in Osun State. Under the theme “Transforming Nigerian Youths Program for Women Aged 18-35 Years,” this initiative was specifically tailored to uplift and empower 120 women with disabilities, equipping them with essential skills, resources, and opportunities that promise to transform their personal and professional lives.

A Focus on Empowerment and Inclusivity

The training program, designed for women aged 18-35, emphasized the critical need to include women with disabilities in broader development initiatives. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by this demographic, the EDC crafted a curriculum that not only imparted essential business and entrepreneurial skills but also provided a supportive environment where participants could learn, share, and grow together.

The theme, “Transforming Nigerian Youths,” is particularly significant as it aligns with broader national goals of empowering the youth to drive economic and social change.
