Ekiti State Women Skill Acquisition Centre trains women with disabilities on fashion designing

TQM Report,

Ekiti State Skill Acquisition Centre produced its first set of graduates with disabilities.

This was disclosed in a statement sent to The Qualitative Magazine(TQM) by Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Disability Matters to the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Tunde Ogunrinde said that the Skill Acquisition Centre built by Ekiti State government in partnership with NNPC and Total, trained first set of graduates and about 3 persons with disabilities were beneficiaries. They were trained on fashion designing.

The elated SSA also said it is one of the promises fulfilled by the Governor. This is another legacy project of Dr Kayode Fayemi, the Governor of Ekiti State which, if properly harness, will train many unskilled Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in vocations of their choice and make them self-sufficient rather than continuing to depend on their people and government.

The Women Skills Acquisition Centre which was inaugurated last year, was equipped to train people in Fashion Designing, Shoe Making, Computer Operation, Hair Dressing. Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Alhaja Ogunlade and Chairman, Ekiti State Agency for Persons With Disabilities, Mr Obanise Akin, were handy to grace the graduation ceremony.
