The Registrar-General, Corporate Affairs Commission, Alhaji Garba Abubakar has promised to partner with The Albino Foundation to develop an inclusive business registration program and business support for persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria.
The Registrar-General disclosed this during a meeting in Abuja with the Founder/CEO, The Albino Foundation (TAF), Mr. Jake Epelle.
Alhaji Garba Abubakar stated that the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in partnership with TAF is orgasnising a roundtable meeting with leaders and organisations of PWDs. The roundtable is aimed at understanding the needs or PWDs in business registration and to make CAC business registration process inclusive for PWDs.
The Registrar-General, CAC, also explained that there is need for PWDs to be conversant with the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA). In view of this, the Commission will us the roundtable to educate the leaders and organization of PWDs on the Act.
The Founder/ CEO, The Albino Foundation (TAF), Mr. Jake Epelle appreciate the open-door policy of the CAC and the commendable move to make business registration process inclusive for PWDs.
Mr. Epelle encourage PWDs to be conversant with the CAMA that governs business registrations and operation in Nigeria.
He explained that the partnership between TAF and the CAC will go along way to promoting full inclusion of PWDs in the fiscal and monetary sectors of the economy. Also, this will help PWDs to contribute their quota to national and economic development.
