As Part of Disability Rights Advocacy Centre (DRAC)’s Break the Cycle (BTC) Project which was launched on Monday. On Tuesday, DRAC brought together stakeholders from the six area councils of FCT and Karu LG of Nasarawa State for planning and consultation meeting for Baseline Assessment/ Skill Audit.
The essence of the meeting is to have a shared understanding on the baseline and needs assessment of the BTC project, secure the commitment and buy-in of the stakeholders to support the baseline and also to plan for the baseline activities.
The stakeholders were drawn from the community leaders, religious leaders, teachers, students, government representative, leaders of disability community and OPDs.
The event saw the stakeholders pointing out contacts within the communities that can be of assistance to the researchers during the baseline survey.
Recall that the Break the Cycle Project is DRAC’s 3-year project supported by DFID and CBM to empower women and girls with disabilities in FCT and Nasarawa in order to combat violence against them.
