Advocacy For Women With Disabilities Initiative (AWWDI) has trained Staff of MDAs on how to respond to Sexual Gender Based Violence against Women and Girls With Disabilities.
In a Facebook post by the Executive Director Of AWWDI, Mrs Patience Dickson, she said ” we are thrilled to share highlights from the recent training held on Sept 21, 2023, at Work and Connect, Jabi, Abuja. Organized by Advocacy for Women with Disabilities Initiative AWWDI and fully funded by the Disability Rights Fund, this training focused on equipping MDAs staff to respond effectively to sexual and gender-based violence against women and girls with disabilities”.
She highlighted the goal of the training which is to enhance of the capacity of Staff of MDAs to address unique challenges faced by these women and girls, providing updated information, best practices, and practical tools.
“Sessions in the agenda covered prevention, survivor support, legal frameworks, reporting protocols, and coordination between agencies”.
The training had expert facilitators shared real-life examples, and interactive activities enriched the learning experience.
The participants were diverse group of MDAs representatives, including program implementers, front-line staff, actively engaged in dynamic sessions.
The participants expressed satisfaction with the content, methodology, and facilitators’ expertise.
“They are eager to apply their newfound knowledge in their professional roles.
