It was all joy and excitement as Lady Mube Awala Beatrice among others were awarded Ambassador for Peace yesterday
In an event organized by Advanced Peace and Reconciliation Centre of Nigeria (APRC) to marking the UN International World Peace Ceremony with the theme: Recovering Better for and Equitable and Sustainable World, the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities FCT Chapter JONAPWD women leader Lady Mube Awala Beatrice was conferred the prestigious Ambassador for Peace.
Lady Mube Awala Beatrice who can now be addressed as Amb. Lady Mube Awala Beatrice got the popular award as a result of her contribution in entrenching peace at Bwari area council where she is serving as an envoy to Advanced Peace and Reconciliation Centre of Nigeria and also her contribution towards humanity which was recognized by APRC of Nigeria as they conferred on her an advocate for peace.
Betty as she fondly called by her friends is focused, a goal getter and an advocate especially in the disability community with focus on women and girls with disabilities which according to her suffer triple jeopardy in the society. She is working relentlessly to ensure none of them is left behind and their rights are not tampered upon.
She has also contributed immensely to peace building in FCT, Rivers state where she come from and Nigeria at large. It is in her pact way of peace building that learnt many Nigerian languages.
