Some leaders of Disability Community have stormed the Jabi office of the former governor of Nasarawa State and a senator, Tanko Almakura to register their support for his ambition to become the APC National Chairman.
The Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons With Disabilities, Mr. James Lalu who is part of the delegation while speaking at the meeting, stated that the visit was to express their support his ambition.
James Lalu who was accompanied by Bar. Danlami Basharu a member of the United Nations Committee for the Right of Persons with disabilities affirmed that Almakura is an advocate of all inclusive governance, promising to contribute their quota towards his success.
Mr. Lalu said people with disabilities believes that if Almakura emerge as APC National Chairman he will carry them along in the affairs of the party and strength internal democracy among perty members.
He explained that Almakura has worked with their members when he was the governor of Nasarawa State, he struggles to see that Disability bill is passed into law at the National Assembly and many more hence their agitation for his emergence as National Chairman in the forthcoming convention.
Expressing delight for the visit, Senator Almakura urged them not to consider their disabilities as a setback but be courageous and committed to achieve their desires.
Senator Tanko Almakura said he will continue to consider persons with various forms of Disabilities his first Constituency and ensure their participation in politics and governance.
He assured them of his support at all times stressing that their is ability in every disability.
