Hon. Isreal Adesokan has put smile on the face of a mother of five with disabilities in Ekiti state Mrs Oluwafemi.
According to The Chairman, EKITI STATE AGENCY FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES Hon. OBANISE AKIN OLUGBENGA While presenting the materials, the woman and her children whom include a set of twin often go to bed without food due to the inability of the woman to fend for them.
The situation of the woman and her children was communicated to Hon. Adesokan known as Jaru and visited Muslim College Okeila Ado Ekiti where the children are schooling, who noticed that the children often come to school without necessary learning materials and even food.
They disclosed that 30% of students in the school are living in abject poverty.
Hon. Adesokan out of his magnanimity invited the woman who is a cobbler and gave her a sewing machine, sewing materials and some cash to enable her return to her shoe making business in order to support her family. He promised to continue to reach out to her until her situation gets better.
Speaking during the presentation of the sewing machine, some other items and cash to the woman, the Chairman, Ekiti Agency for Persons With Disabilities, Mr Akin Olugbenga Obanise thanked Hon. Adesokan for his love for persons with disabilities urging other members of the society to emulate him.
In her remark, the beneficiary Mrs. Oluwafemi who could not hide her joy, appreciated Hon. Adesokan and the Chairman, Ekiti State Agency for Persons with Disabilities Hon. Obanise, and the staff of Muslim College, okela, Ado Ekiti for coming to her aide at this time, saying “I am a disabled with no husband and no one to help, am the only one taking care of my 5 children, and most times the children go all day without feeding”.
Mrs. Oluwafemi promised to return to her business so as to generate funds to cater for her family.
