Gov. Obaseki appoints a woman with disability, Ann Ojugo as member of SGBV committee to oversee implementation of Edo State Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law 2021

Ann Ojugo, the Chairman of Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Edo State Chapter have been appointed by Governor Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo State as a member of Edo State Gender and Sexual Based Violence Management Committee.

This information was contained in a letter of appointment signed by Osarodion Ogie, Esq, the Secretary to the State Government.

The Committee is in line with the provisions in the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law 2021. The Committee is saddled with responsibility of ensuring that the law is fully implemented.

Ann Ojugo’s appointment in accordance with her letter of appointment took effect from Thursday, 17, June, 2021.

TQM congratulates Ann Ojugo and urges her to ensure that Sexual and Gender Based Violence against Persons with disabilities are brought to the limelight.
