TAF’s Advocacy Visit To C.A.D.E.T Academy: OPDs seek more accessible facilities and employment of PWDs as staff

The Albino Foundation(TAF) paid an advocacy visit to The C.A.D.E.T Academy Abuja, Nigeria.

The team was warmly received by the Founder/ Executive Director, Lola Aneke, and her staff.

“Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities Prohibition Act (2018),” was intensely discussed.

The Albino Foundation and other 5 Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) engaged the host on the content of the Disability Act and it is implementation, and recommendations were made on how to further develop the Disability Act, to suit the age group in the event of an amendment, as the Academy is suited for children with disabilities (early intervention).

Suggestions were also made regarding the accessibility of the facility and the employment of PWDs. They assured us of being open to expanding and enriching their policies.

A simplified version of the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities Act was presented to C.A.D.E.T and TAF looks forward to future collaborations.
