The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented its 2022 – 2026 Strategic Plan and 2023 Electoral Project Plan on the 21st of April, 2022. The documents presented were guided by the findings from the review of the 2017-2021 Strategic Plan which expired in December 2021.
The Albino Foundation along with other Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and stakeholders such as National Electoral Commissioners, elections security and many more were in attendance.
“Both the Strategic Plan and the Election Project Plan will enable the commission to monitor all the processes through our Election Management System platforms. So, this is a very important exercise for the commission to be undertaken,” INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, stated.
One of INEC’s key strategic actions is to “Improve Access to Electoral Services for all Voters especially Persons with Disability (PWDs), Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), other Marginalized, and Vulnerable Groups”.
