Persons with Disabilities joined other stakeholders to endorse Governor Yahaya Bello (GYB) as the most credible Presidential candidate under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC).
An event which witnessed a large number of people from all works of life, youths, women, seasoned politicians and persons with disabilities was put together yesterday in Abuja by APC Stakeholders Forum in collaboration with the office of the Director, Youth Mobilization GYB Campaign Organization.
The Director, Persons With Disabilities at GYB Presidential Campaign Organization, Mohammed Abba Isa who led the PWDs delegation to the event, said that GYB has been a father to persons with disabilities, even though he has a son with disability, he has been at the forefront of ensuring the inclusion of persons with disabilities within the party APC and also providing for persons with disabilities, an action that PWDs in Kogi State can gladly attest to.
GYB is the only presidential aspirant of APC that has a directorate for persons with disabilities in his campaign organization which shows that PWDs are part of his program by the time he is elected the President.
He also said that PWDs preferred a man that will consolidate on the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari towards the plights of PWDs.
He praised APC for mainstreaming PWDs in the Party structure from Federal down to the wards level which the likes of GYB are keen to hold.
Similarly, Comrade Bala Tsoho Musa MFR, a wheelchair user who was part of the panel discussion said that it is high time opportunity should be given to young Nigerians saying that most of the founding fathers of Nigeria were in power in their youthful age and they were able to pilot the affairs of the country successfully because they were energetic.
Other speakers such as Sen. Jonathan Zingina, the Chairman of the Occasion, Sen. kabiru Abdullahi Barkiya, a senator representing Kastina Central, Hafsat Abiola, DG, Governor Yahaya Bello Presidential Campaign Organization and many others highlighted the good works of GYB, his capacity, describing him as a courageous and detribalized leader who will represent the interest of all Nigeriians especially women, youths and persons with disabilities.
They were in turns pleaded with the delegates to do the right thing by electing GYB on Monday at APC convention in order to afford him the opportunity to transform Nigeria.
