The Country Director of The Accountability Lab Nigeria, Mr. Friday Odeh has called on the public to always persons with disabilities in their plans, policies and programmes.
He made this appeal when he was making an opening remark during recently organized Integrity Icon Award by Accountability Lab on 2nd December, 2021 in Abuja.
Mr. Odeh while appreciating the Executive Director of The Qualitative Magazine (TQM), Chris Agbo for honouring their invitation and also show of integrity among the Disability Community, he called on the general public to put persons with disabilities in their plans, reminding them about the recent National Disability Act where he emphasized on 5percent recruitment of PWDs in all government establishments.
He also said that accessibility of public building is also very important.
“We need to make our various offices accessible for PWDs”.
“We have made our office accessible and we are working with some friends in the Disability Community to develop Disability-inclusive policy in order to make our organization Disability Inclusion compliance.
Accountability Lab Nigeria celebrated the fifth edition of Integrity Icon Award, an award designed to celebrate civil servants who have shown extraordinary integrity and uprightness in discharge of their duties.
This year’s event was supported by MacArthur Foundation, Ford foundation and Luminate group.
